Britney Goes on Trial for Traffic Offense

Britney Spears goes on trial, Wednesday, Oct 15th, in a Van Nuys, California court, on a charge of driving without a license, after more than a year of legal bickering.

Britney, is not required to attend because it’s considered only a misdemeanor case. However, the pop star faces up to 6 months in jail and a $1000 fine.

The trial will start the jury selection which is expected to last a few days.

Britney Spears, 26, chose trial by jury after rejecting a plea deal of one year’s probation and a $150 fine.

Britney’s attorney, Michael Flanagan, who turned down twice the prosecutors’ plea deal, says: “My client will never plead guilty to this charge, which should be reduced to an infraction”. “We’ll appeal any conviction.”

Spears was charged for a hit-and-run charge back in August 2007. The charge was eventually dropped after she paid the other driver for damages, but the driving without a license charge stuck.

At the time, Britney Spears had a Louisiana license, but later got a California license.

Britney said in an interview that will be airing on MTV November 30th, “I sit there and I look back and I’m like, ‘I’m a smart person. What the hell was I thinking?”‘ “I’ve been through a lot in the past two or three years, and there’s a lot that people don’t know.”

A 90-minute special, “Britney: For The Record,” is produced by Britney Spears’ manager Larry Rudolph, where Britney talks about her life over the past two years, and features behind-the-scenes footage of the singer.

For sure, she’s got a lot to talk about, what with the divorce, custody battle, rehab stint, and the very public meltdowns, and not to forget the Britney Spears’ not so good (to put it mildly) performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Britney says she’s hoping this TV special with “set the record straight”.

Spears’ album, “Circus” is scheduled for release on Dec 2nd, her 27th birthday.

Looks like Britney Spears is on the comeback!

More Like A Bump Than An Accident, for Britney Spears

Britney Spears was not driving, but was in the back seat of her car when her driver and a paparazzi collided.

Depending on who you are talking to, there are two versions of the story.

The paparazzi claim that Britney’s driver backed into him - and Britney Spears’ team says that they were rear ended by the pap.

Good thing there were millions of folks videoing the mishap. Come on forward, you good citizens, so we can see the tapes.

“At appoximately 2pm, Britney was being driven in a white Escalade, when the paparazzi cut her off and one slammed into the back of her car,” a clerk at the store told Usmagazine.com.

“She didn’t seem upset by the accident at all,” he said. “She wasn’t driving anyway and it wasn’t bad, it was just a fender bender.”

Britney Spears was spotted with a friend, after the accident, shopping at Wasteland for some new shades. So much for that!

The Jamie Lynn Spears latest, came from celebrity gossip via  the National Enquirer, claiming that Spears is now expecting for the second time, three months after giving birth on June 19th to baby, Madie Briann.

Jamie Lynn has been busy putting rumors to rest that she and fiance Casey Aldridge have split.

When the time comes that Jamie Lynn Spears decides to react to the rumors of her pregnancy, will she deny or confirm?  The Report claims that Jamie was furious and cried her eyes out when she found out that she was pregnant.

So, the question is, if the rumor holds true that Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant, who is the father - Casey Aldridge or…?
