Track Star Tim Montgomery Sentenced

Tim Montgomery track star, former Olympic sprinter, was sentenced to five years in prison Friday on heroin charges.
Montgomery learned of his sentence from Judge Jerome B. Friedman in Virginia. Montgomery entered a guilty plea on July 3rd after an agreement with government officials.
Tim Montgomery was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute. Montgomery’s heroin prison sentence will begin after he finishes serving a four-year term for a check fraud scheme in New York.
Tim Montgomery was a former gold medalist and part of the 400 meter relay team at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
